Rowing General Tips and Tricks When trying to row you need everything to be perfect. These simple tips and tricks have been passed down to help you make the perfect stroke. 1. Always look forward Also known as keeping your head in the boat this simple trick improves you balance. Rowing boats are very unstable and the slightest movement can change the balance. Having an unstable boat can rapidly reduce the speed of the boat. This simple trick may seem insignificant but it improve your overall rowing technique and speed. All team members are looking forward 2. Seat Pad If you have longer legs you may feel bunched up at the catch (finish). This can be resolved using a seat pad. The pad allows you sit higher allowing more room for your legs. You can buy seat pads from Sykes (link below) or create your own out of foam.
